The telly world is abuzz with the news that Hrithik Roshan’s dance reality show is going off the air way before its scheduled departure from the small screen. The show, ‘Just Dance’, which is touted as one of the most expensive shows on Indian television, has reportedly failed to garner good TRPs.
Launched amidst much jollity, the show was riding high on expectations as it was Hrithik’s first TV show. He was not only the judge at the show but also mentored the participants. But nothing worked in the show’s favour. Moreover, the cost of each episode was said to be between Rs 3.5-4 crore, and in return the TRPs were not that encouraging. Unexpectedly, the show has not been able to garner the kind of viewership it was expected to.
It’s also said that Hrithik Roshan is not able to give enough time to the show because of his busy schedule of Agneepath. In fact, for several episodes of the show, the star was not available on the sets and choreographer-judges Vaibhavi Merchant and Farah Khan used to make up for his absence.
The channel has decided to pull off the show. ‘Just Dance’ will wrap up by October, allegedly three weeks before schedule. Now it’s learnt that the show will be replaced by ‘Survivor India’, a reality show, shot mostly in Philippines. It will have 11 celebrities competing with an equal number of commoners.
‘Just Dance’ has now six finalists. The next episode will see TV actors Sushant Singh Rajput, Neha Marda, Sayantani Ghosh, Mouni Roy and Shaleen Bhanot promoting the top six contestants.
